Thing 2

I enjoyed Stephen Abram's talk even though the "right in the face" video was a little distracting. He is right about finding time to do 23things--everyone can find time if they make it a priority. What I noticed about some of the 2.0 things he uses is that they are personally useful to him. For example, he uses Skype and Instant Messenger to keep in touch since he is "in the air" so much of the time. I think that is what we need to keep in mind when we think about using Library 2.0 and web 2.0 technology. If we can show how it is useful to our users, then they will use it.

First Blog Post

I have my blog account and my avatar so I am ready to go. I am hoping to get a more in depth view of some of these web 2.0 technologies and see whether they might be useful in my library's setting.

Thing 1. Blog and Avatar

Four of us are doing things on a stick together. So far some things are easy to do without following instructions exactly. Other things like exporting the avatar from Yahoo were not as intuitive and we had to find the link in the things instructions before we could find the Yahoo page on how to export. We are going to continue to meet and discuss the things, so I think it will be a learning activity and a team building activity.
